Scars are a type of tissue morphology formed during the self-repair process of the skin after trauma. They often differ from the surrounding normal skin in color, texture and morphology, causing trouble for many people.
What is silicone gel?
Silicone gel is a translucent or transparent gel composed of medical silicone, glycerin and other ingredients. It has good air permeability and moisturizing properties, can fit the skin closely, and provide an ideal microenvironment for scar repair.
Principle of silicone gel scar removal
Protective barrier effect: After being applied to the surface of the scar, silicone gel can quickly form a breathable protective film.
Promote collagen synthesis: Silicone gel can combine with the outer layer of dead skin cells of the skin to protect the body's moisture from evaporation, and at the same time form a protective barrier in the scar area.
Inhibit scar hyperplasia: When silicone gel is applied to the scar, it can effectively transfer mechanical force to the edge of the silicone gel, thereby reducing the force of the scar itself.
How to use?
Clean the scar area:Before using Silicone Scar Stickers, you first need to make sure that the scar area is clean and dry.
Cutting scar stickers:Note that the cut scar stickers should extend at least 1cm beyond the scar edge (some say 10cm-12cm or at least 5mm beyond the edge) to ensure that the scar is fully covered.
Applying scar stickers:Gently peel off the backing film of the scar stickers and apply the sticky side to the clean and dry scar.
Adjusting the use time during the adaptation period:In order to gradually adapt the skin to Silicone Scar Stickers, it is recommended to apply for a shorter time each day at the beginning and then gradually increase it.
Regular replacement:When the stickiness of the scar stickers decreases significantly or there are too many stains, you need to replace the scar stickers with new ones.
Precautions
Before using silicone gel, a skin test should be performed to rule out allergic reactions.
During use, the scar area should be kept clean and dry, and avoid contact with other chemicals.
If you experience any discomfort such as redness, swelling, itching, etc., stop using it immediately and consult a doctor.
