Step 1: Cleaning the skin is critical
Before applying scar patches, be sure to clean your skin first. You can use warm water and non-irritating cleaning products to gently dry it.
If there is sweat, oil, dust or residual ointment on the scar area, it may not adhere to the patch and may even affect absorption.
Step 2: Make sure the skin is dry before applying
The skin should be completely dry before applying the scar patch. Moisture will make the patch not stick firmly and it is easy to breed bacteria.
Step 3: Do not pull when applying
After taking out the scar patch, gently apply it on the scar without pulling the patch or skin. Applying it too tightly will make the skin airtight, and applying it too loosely will make it easy to fall off.
Step 4: Apply it for 12 to 24 hours a day and use it consistently
Most medical silicone scar patches recommend applying it for more than 12 hours a day, and the closer to 24 hours, the better.
Use it for 8 to 12 weeks to see obvious changes.
Step 5: Be careful when using it repeatedly
If you are using a reusable silicone scar patch, it is recommended to gently wash the patch with warm water every 1-2 days, and then dry it naturally (do not use a hair dryer or sun).
The surface of the patch is clean, so it sticks firmly and is more comfortable.
Step 6: Daily care
In addition to using scar patches, you should also pay attention to the following points in daily life:
Eat less irritating food (spicy food, alcohol, etc.)
Do not scratch or pick at scars with your hands
Avoid direct sunlight to prevent pigmentation
Maintain a regular schedule to promote body repair
