1. The wound must be healed before it can be applied
You must wait until the wound is completely healed and the skin has grown well before you start using scar patches.
2. Clean the skin before use
Before applying the scar patch, be sure to clean the sweat, grease, and dust on the surface of the skin. You can wash it gently with clean water, wipe it dry and then apply it, so that it will be more firmly and more hygienic.
3. Wear it for enough time every day
Scar patches are not effective just for a while. Generally speaking, it should be used for more than 4 to 8 hours a day. Some products even recommend wearing it for more than 12 hours. Only by using it every day can you see the effect.
4. The patch can be reused, but it must be kept clean
Some silicone scar patches can be reused, but they must also be kept clean:
Rinse with clean water after each use
Do not use alcohol, soap, or detergent to clean
Store it after drying to avoid dust
5. Stop using it immediately if you have allergies or discomfort
If you feel obvious discomfort such as itching, redness, and tingling after applying it, you should stop using it. It may be that you are allergic to the material, or that the skin is not breathable due to long-term use.
6. Persistence is the key
Scar stickers are not effective in one or two days. You need to persist in using them for several weeks to several months, or even longer, to see obvious results. Especially for old scars, patience is needed.
