How To Use Self-Adhesive Silicone Gel Dressing

Self-adhesive silicone gel dressings are suitable for closed wounds, inhibiting scar contracture, and preventing the formation of hypertrophic scars and keloids. They are gently self-adhesive, requiring no tape, and are thin, lightweight, smooth, and flexible. They are close to skin color, aesthetically pleasing and natural; waterproof and breathable; durable; do not require washing, and can be reused and cut to any size, making them economical and practical.

Suitable For:

◆ Preventing scar proliferation (e.g., post-C-section scars and children's skin scars)

◆ Closed wounds, preventing hypertrophic scars and keloid formation

◆ Old or new hypertrophic scars and tumorous scars after wound healing

Cleaning:

Before use, clean the scar area thoroughly and dry it to keep the area clean and dry.

Instructions:

1. Open the package and take out the dressing.

2. Trimming: If necessary, trim the dressing to the appropriate size, ensuring it extends at least 1 cm beyond the wound edges. When applying, make sure the scar area is dry. When used with ointment or lotion, ensure the dressing covers and extends beyond the area covered by the lotion.

3. Application: Peel off the backing and cover the scar with the self-adhesive silicone gel dressing. Ideally, the dressing should be applied 24 hours a day. Remove the dressing once daily to inspect and clean the skin. The dressing can be reused and generally does not need washing. (For individuals with sensitive skin, start by wearing the dressing for 4-5 hours on the first day, 7-8 hours on the second day, and gradually increase to 24 hours daily.)

4. Replacement: Replace the self-adhesive silicone gel dressing every 3-7 days, or when it loses its adhesiveness. The dressing is generally waterproof and can be worn while bathing.

Precautions:

1. This product must be used after suture removal and complete wound healing post-surgery. Do not use on open wounds, infected wounds, or wounds with scabs that have not fallen off.

2. It is recommended to use the dressing for more than 12 hours a day, with longer use yielding better results. The treatment period should be three months to one year after the wound has completely healed.

3. If sweating or secretions cause poor adhesiveness, clean the dressing and the surrounding skin with water or a neutral solution. After drying, it can be reused.

4. If maceration or rash occurs, remove the dressing until symptoms disappear and the skin recovers, then gradually increase the treatment time. If symptoms persist, discontinue use and consult a physician.
